3 Reasons Why You Need Stationary

Many people place stationery at the bottom of their budget because they view it as something that guests will just throw away. However, the same can be said for the rentals that will just go back to the rental company, or the flowers that will eventually wilt. All of these items have a lifespan of the duration of the event, but they are all still necessary (and pretty). We've listed our top three reasons why stationery is important for your event.

1. RELAYS INFORMATION TO GUESTS

Somehow, someway, event related information needs to be relayed to your guests. Information such as: date, time, location, reason for event, and other details or instructions. It's also nice to extend that information beyond the invitation and include directional signage, menus, programs, etc. to help your guests navigate through your event and know what is happening. Keeping your guests informed greatly reduces the number of questions they ask you or your event staff. No more of the "what's for dinner" or "how do I know where I'm sitting." To some, it sounds silly to provide guests with this much information,  however, for all of the type A personalities out there, knowing what's going on allows them sit back and enjoy the event.

2. KEEPSAKE

Aside from a few pressed or dried flowers and the photo album, there are very few physical keepsakes from the event. Stationery is one of those few items that can be taken out of the scrapbook years and years later to relive the event. Some choose to frame the stationery, especially for monumental events, such as weddings or retirement celebrations.

3. INCORPORATES THE THEME + DESIGN

If carried through intentionally, stationery can be a form of art. The colors, textures, and design can showcase the various elements of your event. It's not always possible to convey everything through a place setting or lighting design, but when used in conjunction with stationery, the design comes together. Elements such as place cards, table numbers, or menus can be incorporated on the table. Gift tags, programs, and signage are great auxiliary pieces that be can be used throughout other areas to tie together the place setting with the rest of the event. Stationery allows your event to have a seamless flow and design.
